The use of my sketch book has always been for different purposes and changes all the time.

I generally use it for developmental purposes if i have a project on the go, how ever recently-particularly with my recent trip to Colombia- i have regained the joy of using my sketchbook as a visual diary. I find this alot my enjoyable because of the lack of pressure to produce ‘good’ work, for example when ive been set a deadline.

As alot of my work focuses on mark making through pencil and materials, its always more likely for my to prefer my sketchbook work more than my final images as they tend to be a lot less refined and loose, which is what im generally striving for and why sketchbooks are so important for my work

AN EPIC MINI BREAK IN BRUGES and Lille

Eight of us took the pimped out Splitter to Europe for a few days. Had moules et fritte and so much more. My new nickname isn’t great and I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to shake it off. Thanks to my new found and brilliant travel companions the fantastic Battles know far too much about me…
